The whole soundtrack is awesome, but this has always been the highlight. Absolutely gorgeous, especially the last part. Mychael Danna is a genius.
This is one of the most peaceful songs I know. It makes me feel at home, where I care about the people in there and the people in there, care about me.
Bombay Jayashri was the one who wrote this song, and She says that while she was working on the song, Ang Lee explained to Her the mood and feeling the song should evoke: “A child sleeps not because he is sleepy, but because he feels safe”. If you search a little, you can find the meaning of the song, by the way, the language of it is Tamil.
