Loved all of Robert's musical journey - always keeps us guessing where he's going next! I had the good fortune to bump into him at the Hay Festival about 3 years ago. He was there to catch some musician friends who were playing a gig, he joined them for a couple of songs later. Seemed a really nice guy! :-)
@debutch when he walks in a room the man has presence. (No that wasn't deliberate). I've met a fair few rockers and movie people over the years but he would be one of the first I would think of if someone used that word. You just know he's a star......or maybe he's just Odin "slumming" it.
@paulgdaly "Presence" hehe!.....Yeh, I saw him in "The Green Man" pub in Soho a couple of years ago and I agree, he kinda 'stood out' ( despite looking like a vagrant! )
@paulgdaly "You've met a fair few Rockers & Movie Stars"? Oooh! ...... Of, course, you don't have to answer this & I'm only being nosey but...what do you do?
@debutch Well these would be the relevant jobs, (I've done loads of other stuff)..... over the years I've worked for a newspaper (press pass to gigs), taken pictures in Atlantic City (lots of boxers mainly and c-listers) and was the bookbuyer at a Manhattan bookstore for 12 years (big drama section, lotsa actors, upscale NYC dwellers). You meet people.
@mikelowe Wee bit jealous Mike. I had his posters on my wall growing up, my father used to call him 'vulgar" but I always thought he was divine. I also adore all the different avenues he has taken with his music. His album with Alison Krauss remains one of my favorites
