WikiPedia claims Commodore William King's wife Shirley Hanna-King actually wrote the lyrics to this song, but when he ran the words past the rest of the band, he neglected to point that out. It wasn't until years later that the other members of the band found out Shirley Hanna-King "helped" her husband write the words. While he slept.
