You should check out Millionaire, Evil Superstars (one of the current members of dEUS was in it), and on the Walloon side, Jeronimo. From my side, had never heard of Front 242 - checked them out and they are pretty good.
I just wish the last dEUS album wasn't so poor (I love this band otherwise). Seconded Evil Superstars: got into them via Girls Against Boys and the song B.A.B.Y.
Poor's a bit harsh. I didn't think it was too bad. The first two are the two that really do it for me but I've not completely disliked any dEUS, really. Evil Superstars seem pretty good from what I've played online so far - thanks both! I don't know much GvsB - only Freak*On*Ica. They're another band I've always meant to investigate further.
You shuold check out TELEX - Belgian's answer to KRAFTWERK. Also for some absolute nuttiness X-LEGGED SALLY - they defy categorisation, but are well worth checking out. ABSOLUTE BODY CONTROL are a must for some minimal synth goodness. And whilst he sings in French JACQUES BREL was a HUGE influence on people like Scott Walker, David Bowie, Marc Almond and more - definitely worth a peek.
Oh yeh, not totally Belgian but REVOLTING COCKS are one made up of FRONT 242 & and MINISTRY - no bad thing.
I had completely forgotten Jacques Brel was Belgian but yes. Great shout. The Marc Almond "Jacques" album of covers is just stunning... That Somnambulist track is cool too - reminds me a little of early Coil! Thanks!
