This tune is referenced as far back as 1964 during a BBC recording session for "And I Love Her". Before that song begins, Ringo asks, "Did I write a song?" and Paul mockingly sings the chorus. Ringo and Paul are the only Beatles on the recording. Ringo plays drums,sleigh bells and tack piano. Paul adds bass and a grand piano. Both piano tracks are recorded through a Leslie rotary speaker, thus creating the chorus effect. Ringo vocals are double tracked. Jack Fallon plays the fiddle track.
@curtywyshart Oooo, that's very cheeky. However, given that I think that that Box Set should be in the Black Box on the space probe bound for alien life then, yes, excellent, granted.

@Bukowski Whew- that was close. I thought I was going to have to explain why I believe the Red and Blue albums to be Parts 1 & 2 of a single work! :-)
curtywyshart
@Bukowski This was my original answer: Sgt. Pepper, no-wait! Help, no- wait! Abbey Road, no-wait! and so on and so on...
Bukowski
@curtywyshart No need to explain, I have always regarded them as you do, 'The Beatles: Part One & Two'
Bukowski
@curtywyshart Gun to my head. 1) 'The White Album' 2) 'Revolver' 3) 'Abbey Road' 4) 'Sgt. Peppers' 5) 'Rubber Soul' 6) 'A Hard Day's Night'
curtywyshart
@Bukowski I like it!
