Interesting how JG Ballard seemed to influence a lot of these british post-punk/new wave bands. It you watch SynthBritannia (BBC doc) Ballard is mentioned there several times as an influence.
@Gummi yes I saw that and had no idea beforehand that 'Warm Leatherette' by The Normal (and later covered brilliantly by Grace Jones) was based on J.G. Ballard's novel 'Crash'. There is something both quite punkish about his disturbing dystopian novels.
