Great toon, Dave. Phenomenal post, as always. Grateful you never mentioned Port Glasgow, to sour the perfection of that 'chase'!! Dontcha' just love it when your trousers get all bent like that?!? Lookin' for your book on Amazon...sometime soon perchance...??? ;-)

@21schizoid hah ha - I blame you for my odd anecdotes here; you are very inspiring or inspirational (<-- Clearly English is my second language, after South Glasgow Patois ;)

Driving means flipping about car radio, and things are quite rocky - and a heck of a lot of new pop music sounds to me like Tom Petty (Sam Smith), Bryan Adams (One Direction) or Bruce Springsteen (Kings of Leon). Of course the youth market has not heard of artists such as these, and think it's all fresh and new. Ah... pass me the zimmer catalogue

@daved When you're ready, Dave!! I'm happy to shoulder the blame, as long as you keep up that standard...brilliant! I notice that patois rhymes wi' fatwa...a South Glesga' Islamist in the making...well, Pollokshields resident, anyway...oops...The Wrath of Khan cometh. Now to fire through all those posts... :-)

@21schizoid I have often been referred to as that fatwa' - how did you guess? The Kings of Leon are far from exciting live, eh - not very Springsteen in that respect. On listening to the official version of this track (which is forbidden from being posted here for no Good Reason), the lead vocal also reminds me of Paul Buchanan at times, wonder if Kings of Leon will do a Blue Nile cover at the Big Weekend festival this weekend in Glasgow? That would be something - what do you think?

Oh - and does anyone else think the Common Linnets sounds like Robert Plant and Alison Krauss?

This is my 100th jam! Good grief

@daved Congrats, Centurian! Yep, I do hear shades of Buchanan there. I have to admit, I wouldn't have picked that up, as I've never heard the Nile do a single thing of that tempo! The world weariness is present and correct though. They could certainly attempt a wee Nile cover...but would it be right???

@21schizoid Of course this is a standard rock tune 4:4 in the key of A major and with a BPM of 150. I know you just love knowing these things ;)
