Roxana's Song ( Karol Szymanowski) by Olga Pasichnyk

“This is from Act 2 of King Roger. This came to my attention when the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, put out a new production, conducted by Antonio Pappano last month. Act 1 is the "Byzantine" Act, This is from Act 2 -The "Oriental" Act, representing India and the Middle East and the last act is The "Greco-Roman" Act. So it's a Polish composer doing the King of Sicily in a wide variety of musical styles. And it's pretty different as a result. What a voice Olga has! Not your usual opera fayre eh?”
