I want to feature mainly Brazilian music but I'll need to do a little research to get a clue on what I'm talking about - but i DO know what a 'cuica'('kwee-ka') is, thanks to top info from @BladeRunner y'know, the thing that sounds like a demented whoopee cushion (*that's the instrument I'm talikng about, NOT Bladerunner, of course!) and I've discovered that there's a LOT more to Brazilian music than just whistles, carnival drum freakouts & X-Rated sambas too!
This song was featured in a 'Citroen' TV ad a few years ago, (remember?) - Regarding the Brazilian theme, The Bees are actually an English band but the original was done by 'Os Mutantes', a psychedelic Brazilian band from the late 60s. ( You SEE! I'm getting there!)
I've jammed Os Mutantes' original a few months ago, luv it! This is absolute Brazilian rock history!!! Thank you for mentioning that we are not (only) what turned out to be a cliched version of our music. Of course we are that, but there are so many other aspects to our music, it's something very rich! I'd be looking forward for your brazilian jams and be happy if you needhelp in this aspect! Ahhhh and thanks for the disclaimer that the demented strangled bird is the cuĂca, not myself! Huahuahua
HaHa! I'm sure the confusion would never have surfaced! (...but then, you never know!) Yes, I'm looking forward to this. Should be quite educational. I just KNOW I'm going to discover something that will knock me out. Probably get cracking with the first jam about the 1st June
@decarter it all depends on the genres that you're more into (don't like much the word 'genre', but don't know other way to say it) but I'd always recomend anyone to look into our music from the 60's and 70's, specially the 70's. I think no matter what genre, the 70's were the most prolific and creative period in brazilian music (IMO). From your jams/likes it seems you're into a bit of jazz, and that's why I'm sure you're really gonna enjoy it. (on the confusion, TIMJ is a surprise box! kkkk)
I am looking forward to jamming tunes from world cup team's home land...I had a bit of a heard start a few weeks ago jamming carlos Santana and friends official world cup jam...when I didn't like soccer much years ago I still got pumped up for world cup play
@BladeRunner @decarter #WorldCupJam will be Amazing I'm sure! I know next to zilch about Brazilian Music but there's a hell of a lot of very entertaining and funny football songs I know
F1 Monaco nearly on....thats my thing* :) all football will be ignored on my page, too many issues with this event + name me a SE Asian team in it ? enjoyed your music tho:)
@lynn200 Well, South Korea and Japan are in it ( excuse my geography but are they too far north?) Hope you check in occasionally to just enjoy the music anyway! :))
