As promised to @Avante , here is my top-of-my-head list of 20th century geniuses ( In no order & it's ONLY my opinion Ha! ) Louis Armstrong...Miles Davis...Elvis Presley...Robert Johnson...Igor Stravinsky...Ray Charles...Captain Beefheart...Frank Zappa...Bob Dylan...Jimi Hendrix...David Bowie...Phil Spector...Chuck Berry...Charlie Parker...Smokey Robinson...Tom Waits...Nina Simone...Ravi Shankar...
......John & Paul was a tricky one because I believe they DEFINITELY were a genius double-act that fed off each other's inspiration but as individual solo artists, I felt they were not so potent......SORRY! ( The Beatles were still the greatest band, though )
Love this version of this song. I have more versions and covers of this song in my iTunes library than I do Carol of the Bells or Stairway to Heaven. This one digs deep for me.
1964 - earth shattering music for me - and I was only eleven. My brother was eighteen and him and his mates went nuts for this stuff and turned me onto it - for life! Still sounds fresh - that organ man!
It's a superb version, always great listening to it! wish you a great holiday, and on side joke... let's hope MJagger will not watch the match tomorrow!
@decarter Nice list... I'm very pleassed to hear you mention Louis first. He would probably top my list too. And which band would ever beat Beatles? That's just not gonna happen.

Bukowski
Absolute classic. Plus the added joy of knowing that Eric Burdon's autobiography is entitled; 'I Used To Be An Animal But I'm Alright Now'.
