derekmcneill’s year started strong with “Needy Feelin'” by Kerrier District, and there was more to come; 15 jams in all. It was a year of pop, disco, and chanson. “Never Can Say Goodbye” by Dennis Coffey got a lot of love. And it all came to an end with derekmcneill’s final jam: “Half Man Half Machine” by Half Man Half Machine.

2014

derekmcneill’s year started strong with “I Want You Back” by The Esso Trinidad Steel Band, and the jams kept coming; 12 in total. The year’s recurring themes? electronic, funk, and soul. They were the first, and only, to post “Quiet Storm” by Gregory Isaacs. In March, derekmcneill posted their 50th jam. “Hum Ghar Sajan” by Haruomi Hosono & Tadanori Yokoo closed out the year.

2013

derekmcneill’s first jam of 2013 was “Don't You Know” by Jan Hammer Group. In January, derekmcneill found it, their eternal jam: “I Gotta Woman” by Abel (edit). Plenty of dub, singer-songwriters, and soul. derekmcneill did some crate-digging too, and found “Tohu-bohu I” by Marc Moulin. People really liked “Onstá La Yerbita” by Los Destellos. derekmcneill passed 20 jams in March. 2013 drew to a close with “Crushed” by Kyle Hall.

2012

In September, derekmcneill joined This Is My Jam, and kicked things off with “Whose Bad Hands Are These (Autechre Remix)” by Surgeon. Nice. It was a year of new wave, electronic, and post-punk. derekmcneill did some crate-digging too, and found “Candy Bullets and Moon” by Meredith Monk. “Slogan” by Blonde Redhead closed out the year.
