Someone once pointed out to me that the Ramones really just wanted to make records with Phil Spector and if you slow their music down, that's effectively what they did. Blew my mind and completely changed the way I listened to the music.
@DJDarren like most music back then, John Peel was the first place I heard them. And luckily he was not one for using labels to limit the appeal of an artist, which sadly the music press love to do. They always said they couldn't play wery well, but they sounded bloody good to me, and still do now.
