We meet again! Great, great song from an overrated band. I know that it is a cliche (in which there is always a sprinkle of truth) but at my age I really have; 'heard it all before'.
On a supplementary note are you acquainted with John Cale - '1919'. Just wondering if you had heard it and what you thought as I am considering asking my bank manager to lend me a tenner to waste on new music (I'll tell him that it's for 'home improvements').
@Bukowski Having been born in the fifties you would think that I too "have heard it all before". Yet I find that I can still be pleasantly surprised by "modern" music. And with regards to Editors, I simply love them to bits. There aren't that many great baritones in modern pop songs, but here's one
@dutchzaphod Ah, you are of a slightly more urbane pursuasion than I. I agree that there is lots of great new music around (Tame Impala, Beach House) but our discussion on Editors shows that one of the great things about music is the diversity of taste.
@Bukowski Diversity of taste is indeed a blessing. Otherwise we'd always be "preaching to our own congregation" and frankly I like to hear other opinions; not that I'm taking them serious all of the time :)
@dutchzaphod I always like to hear the opinion of others regarding their taste in music unless, as happened to me last week, a lady to spoke to me on the bus for twenty minutes on the "indispensible and spiritually uplifting" virtues of Celine Dion.
@dutchzaphod Personally I combine the besteveralbums website (ideal for a broad popular viewpoint) and Pitchfork Media (for a more 'challenging' view of music) as a guide.

@Bukowski On Celine Dion that is. Not on your endeavours to seek guidance in the world of music.
