Cool. I'm guessing the PARENTAL ADVISORY EXPLICIT CONTENT warning was all to do with that one pair of boobs, eh. Sigh.
Fabulous intro! ...this song had me at 'In'
I posted it from YouTube some days ago ;) but this is great, like the other song "My Number".
@justinedulhaust You ain't wrong there. BTW, I was in two minds whether or not to post 'My Number'. EMI refused also refused to let me post that YouTube video! Maybe with the allowance of Vimeo clips my choices will be easier to put on TIMJ.
God, you like 969 jams?! Do you listen to all of them?:D
@HappyZebra It depends how you define "listening to". I listen to all of them but not all of them I listen to right to the end. It depends on how much time I have, whether I've heard it before, wheather I've heard it recently, what mood I am in and lots of other parameters. But I do make a point of not just clicking without listening! Also, in that way I can warn jammers whether their jams are playable in my region, whether they have the right song or, whether there are other things going wrong.
Dammit. I've been blowing off The Foals 'cause I'd heard too much about them and that tends to turn me off until the hype dies down...but this is AWESOME.
I seriously like everything about this song and it's quite a bit heavier than I thought this band would be. Are they usually this heavy or is it an exception?
@HappyZebra Maybe you've seen my current 2012 top1001. It sort of shows my extensive, broad if you like, taste in music. It partly explains the vast amount of likes... http://nopaste.nl/VXBhOCmx2k
@shiningsun2k From their previous album the two more well known songs 'Miami' and especially 'Spanish Sahara' are probably much too "soft" for your taste (but I might be wrong, listen for yourself). At the time (2010) I sort of categorized them in the Two Door Cinema Club area, although there's still acres of space between the two of them! Their other new song 'My number' is a bit less heavy (but not much), but I like both songs very much and I'm anxiously awaiting the new album (early 2013)
I'll check all of the above out later when I have time. I listen to plenty of very mellow music; how much I like it just depends on my mood and expectations at the time. I figured Foals would be just another cookie cutter band in the growing sea of indie rock. I love it when an artist shatters any foregone conclusions I might have. Like when I found out The Damned Things, a good times bluesy hard rock side project of a couple Anthrax members, also features members of Fall Out Boy.
@dutchzaphod I didn't want to be mean, it was just a joke but ok, it might've sounded differently. Sorry, didn't mean to insult you! I was just impressed :) yes, I've seen your list :) you know a looot of songs!
@HappyZebra No worries. In fact, I was surprised you even thought I had taken it the wrong way. i genuinely believed it to be just an inquisitive question to which I responded to the best of my knowledge. :)
I'm not expecting big things from this record. The chorus on this is okay, mind.
Hey Dutch, leuk dat je langs kwam :-) Ken Foals helemaal niet maar wat ik er zo van hoor is zeker niet slecht, zo doe ik ook eens wat nieuwe muziekinspiratie op :-)
Loving this. Thanks for the heads up
I really hope they don't sell out!
Thank you for following me.. which allowed me to follow you back and hear Inhaler. Good video. Can't wait for their album. You can follow me on twitter.
@cyberspiel I agree with you the intro is to die for!
Dammit! Why does the album have to wait until February to drop?! I want it now, gorram it! This is so brilliantly heavy!
Can just imagine how the bass'd feel thumping through your veins seeing them live...
Really good shit!
Yes! A great teaser for the new album.
I'm really looking forward to this album!
very cool, excited to hear more!
This sounds great... Foals is new to me, but I'll definitely will look for more of their music.
Renewed 29 Nov 2012
Oooo how do you renew a jam then?
@LadyGulag I clicked on a link in an email from TIMJ "Jam renewal; if you're still feeling “Inhaler” by Foals, now you can put it back on your page for another week." So I clicked on 'put it back' and hey presto. I assume that, in future, as soon as your jam has expired this option will appear. The email contained lots of other updates. Didn't you get it?
no not yet @dutchzaphod but then I never leave a Jam up long enough for it to expire ;-)
@LadyGulag Maybe you'll get the mail at a later date; it wasn't just about expiration. (you might want to check your email preferences, maybe that's why you didn't receive the mail...)
Thanks @dutchzaphod I shall investigate further
I saw them play their first show of 2012 last night. Incredible. Read all about it over here: http://www.gigwise.com/reviews/77964/foals-@-queens-social-club-sheffield-281112
@AndrewTrendell You wrote this review I take it. Nice job (you lucky devil you, nice work if you can get it) :) And you're not very wrong with that single-of-the-year thing. Though there are other contenders! Tame Impala for one! Anyway, thanks for the heads-up.
As good as it was before. How about that? :-)
@SueSkinner LOL :) Actually, it started out as "what happens if I press this button", but now I'm noticing a new stream of contacts and interesting information (see right above your comment), so I've decided to hang on to this one. (though I doubt it'll get as much likes as Tame Impala did in just the one week. Not that that's what I'm after, mind) :)
@dutchzaphod Wow, Frood! 174 Likes. You're a Like junkie :-D
@SueSkinner Yep, but it's all down to the The Marketing Division of the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation who designed a 'like' attracting device for my PC :)
@SueSkinner For your information, 'Elephant' by Tame Impala got 240 likes in just one week! http://thatwasmyjam.sharpshooterlabs.com/user/dutchzaphod/jams
@dutchzaphod Go stick your head in a pig :-)
@dutchzaphod Sorry that should be Go stick your head in a pig (little copyright thingy)
@SueSkinner Can't. The pig just came round and asked which part of him I would be having for dinner and 'would I like some vegetables with that' :)
You just made that up, didn't you? A total fabrication, in fact.
@SueSkinner Actually, not entirely! Look it up under the heading 'The Restaurant at the End of the Universe'
MY GOD ...good tune brother ..
@dutchzaphod It's in a box at my uncle's in Kent. (Unhelpfully). Okay, you can have your pig and vegetables for dinner :-)
@dutchzaphod And a pangalactic gargleblaster or two with it. Of course.
Fun Fact: If it weren't for my banning of any 2012 song on my channel until I start my Best Of countdown in January, this would absolutely be my Jam right now. I seriously cannot stop listening to it.
Suits this suit. Excellent.
@dutchzaphod @CallumPetch another two new songs, they're live recordings: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Vt2AZCUcd8k http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=-LA7Lw7PocY I can't wait for Holy Fire,seriously!
@thaknows Thanks! I already read about it! Holy fire, bring it on!
New to me & Awesome
God the build on this song is incredible.
@itskerryc Nice suit! :)
@dutchzaphod ha ha glad you like suit joke.
Ah good God. That is some good stuff.
@dutchzaphod - just booked a nice March double of Foals supported by Efterklang.
@Rubychick Nice! And by they'll probably be playing all the new material from the forthcoming album. Very much something to look forward to!
The musical equivalent of a blow in the face, haha, nice!
Love this tune. Every time it comes on the radio my girlfriend and I do crazy funk rock dance involving us throwing, and catching, imaginary objects in ever more ridiculous ways.
@gingerbeardman LOL! Your writing is very descriptive. I can actually see the two of you hurtling about in the room. But seriously, as @Bukowski put it, this is indeed a belter of a song!
@dutchzaphod we remain seated at all times, which makes the whole dance even more ridiculous :D
