@ rexter42 That MGMT song could well pass off as "Gardner" song. It has the same atmosphere. So I see where you're coming from! :) BTW the official video of 'It's working' was absolutely brilliant...
I didn't care for Syd Barrett's stuff as a kid, but I haven't listened to it since and I'm really digging this, so maybe I should give it another chance. And I can tell this song is going to be in my head for a while.
If you're not too scared to skip through some Dutch, and you have Spotify installed, then here's a chance to hear some more Jacco Gardner! http://oor.nl/#reviews/albums/11003/cabinet_of_curiosities
Thank you. I like the tune and the beat. I had never heard this guy before. The words, did not do so much for me, but, often, other people take a tune and redo it. Who knows what might result? Sometimes 2 version makes you appreciate both versions more. They say every tune has 12 sets of lyrics. I think 12 is too high, but I can see 3 or 4 sets of lyrics. (Maybe I need more imagination!)
@rjcelmer Syd has risen from the dead and starts again in the body of a young Dutch boy who got tired anyway of sticking his finger in the dyke. (pointless really since we Dutch changed that particular sea into a lake) :)
@dutchzaphod That's a polished piece. Listened to "Cabinet ..." He has promise. @jamescurran Some Zombie undertones. Its Jacco's use of flat keys that provides quite a signature.

@MyBlueElephant Oui Sylvie, Pitchfork, NME, The Guardian, all picked him up and he'll be at SXSW. I think he'll make it big (and deservedly so!)

I don't know why, but this kind of reminds me of "It's working" by MGMT. I think it's just me though.

@rexter42 @dutchzaphod It reminds me a lot of It's Working, too. Plus... doesn't Jacco Gardner remind you a little of the young Beck in this video?

@dutchzaphod I still haven't puzzled out how that thing works, but it seems to be quite random. Don't know how the heck I made it up there ;)

@dutchzaphod That's a classy line up!

@SueSkinner I've studied it before and, like you, I can't make head or tail from it. Anyway, it's the beautiful quartet that caught my eye. :)
