I knew I recognized it. I just binge listened to the album with this version a few weeks ago, thanks to @BladeRunner. http://youtu.be/pCykgzrwIw0. What movie? Is it called Whiplash?

@BladeRunner Also, I only knew JK Simmons from Farmers Insurance commercials before now. I tried to find one to post for you, but just got this mash-up showing off his range between shocking movie rolls and the whimsical commercials: http://youtu.be/S3hc0ptC6rQ

@BladeRunner @shiningsun2k I only knew him as the dad in Juno. He is amazing. However, am surprised that Miles Teller (the main actor) didn't get more recognition for the role. He's incredible. Also, it's really him playing the drums

@flame_me_up Wow, great track. I don't like jazz either, with the exception of Herbie Mann. That dude was cool personified. May I suggest that you check out his album Memphis Underground. I think you'll see why he is indeed the exception to the rule. Have a great day!

@Marlboroman_Mat thanks! I checked it out, but I'm afraid it's not my thing. Too poppy. I like Hold On, I'm A Comin' because I know the Sam & Dave song. But still, even on that song there's too much jazz flute, preferred the guitar solos. From the Whiplash soundtrack I liked Caravan too, because it's intense: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHD0MFnBwp8. But it seems that's it from the jazz world...! More suggestions welcome though :)
