@hannacelina sorry from what I know (not a lot) the decision was likely flawed but my, too subtle, reference was about the 2000 presidential election where Florida, and the presidency went to Bush (a win for Gore mean the opposite). Lots of controversy there and the start, in my opinion, of a lot of America's loss of credibility.

@hannacelina from the "evidence" presented on the usually impartial BBC coverage, this does seem like an unlikely decision.
