Love this. And congratulations - I've been trying and trying to find a postable "Wrap Your Troubles in Dreams" but seriously no dice.

Not much of a singing voice, a German accent, what she did with those limitations is remarkable.

I always find it a bit odd when journalists try to place Nico within some kind of a rock/pop scale. Works much better to place her in the german tradition of female singers (Lotte Lenye, Dietrich, Dagmar Krause, Nina Hagen). This, of course, works much better for her later albums.

@frankiepeacock Even more to the point, whatever singing voice Leonard Cohen used to have is now completely gone. Regardless, his latest album is the best in many years. Overcoming limitations is just as much part of the artistic process as displaying one's unique skills.

Nico's voice is full of pain and longing and I love listening to her.

@helloerica beautiful, she looks genuinely bashful as he sits singing that like he means it - and you've given me my cheat for posting "Wrap Your Troubles" - so thanks!

@thisismymistake my two cents, to quote Morrissey, a singer I used to think was dull and monotone and eventually became arguably my favorite singer/songwriter ever (and I think a big Nico fan): And all of those Who sing on-key They stole the notion From you and me

Jackson Browne wrote this when he was just *sixteen*!!! (p.s. Glenn Campbell's version of this is actually OK too)

@moongolfer Jackson Browne, one of my musical heroes! (Nico is, of course, a sort of goddess which transcends the notion of hero) :)
