Amber, Ember, Glow by Saxon Shore

“man, i have not thought of this song in over a decade i don't think (nostalgia! used to be obsessed with it in high school and the first year of college), but it popped up in my head, along with explosions in the sky's "with tired eyes, tired minds, tired souls, we slept" and woven hand's "another white bird", as we drove through east texas on our way home yesterday. makes sense i guess, and was good soundtrack to the visuals out the window (summer blue skies, clouds like they'd been painted on, rolling green hills, just straight open road forever before us). eventually in arkansas it was like a blueberry yogurt painting with a soft rosy glow of purple-blue sky blurred by white stripes and lined water-reflective green fields. as we drove through forrest city and west memphis and memphis with the sun setting, fireworks began going off in each town while the roads were deserted. pretty neat feeling.”
