“I'm also way into this album. Usually I don't love vocal flourishes, that kind of styling and emphasis, but it really works throughout the whole thing because for me anyway, it conjures the kind of hum-mumbling throaty daydreaming adolescent girls do half to themselves, that contains the seeds of genuine/illuminating yet private/usually hidden thoughts. It evokes a sort of intensely expressive yet intimate portrait, which goes well with the theme of the entire record which seems to be self-preservation/pride/maintenance/whateveryouwanttocallit in the forest of sexual relationships. I really love the thing as a whole; it was hard to pluck a single petal.”
