Saw Ethan Johns sing this recently and got goosebumps; hard to beat this, though.

Gillian Welch is (in my opinion) one of the two best female vocalists of all time...the other being Sandy Denny. Love her voice, love this song. Dave Rawlings guitar work is immense.

This is one of the first records I ever heard by Gillian Welch and David Rawlings and I think it is a song of such haunting power and beauty. I've yet to see them live but desperate to do so as I know it would be an unforgettable experience
