Wedding Day At Troldhaugen Op.65/6 by Edvard Grieg

“I've always loved this piece of beautiful romantic music. I am a big fan of Grieg at the best of times, but this is just magical. To Grieg it was avery important piece as he'd written it for his wife and himself when they celebrated their silver wedding anniversary. Troldhaugen was Grieg's villa, built in 1885, in Bergen. On Nina Grieg's suggestion he called it Troldhaugen ("The Hill of the Trolls"), thus showing she had a wry sense of humour just like her husband. What a magnificent head of hair and moustache he had! Hope you like it. #myclassicalweek
