Mr. Sandman by The Chordettes

jovisgoesnuts’s jam on 24 Feb ’15 and then once after that (See all)

“A bit of pure nostalgia now...the Chordettes were an American female popular singing quartet, usually singing a cappella, and specialising in traditional popular music. The group organised in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, in 1946. The original members of the group were Janet Ertel, Carol Buschmann (her sister-in-law), Dorothy Schwartz, and Jinny Osborn. Janet Ertel married their music director Archie Bleyer and their daughter Jackie later married Phil Everly of The Everly Brothers). #hopeyoulikeit

Released in 1954, this was the biggest hit for this often a cappella and always close harmony group. it was later used in Halloween II, though we shouldn't hold that against the song or The Chordettes, who recorded originally in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. #HopeYouLikeIt   4
