I've only heard the 1930 recording of this so I guess this was from when he reappeared in the mid 1960s. It has such a sore soft mood to it. Incredible.
@d0minic You're right on all counts there. This was cut when he was rediscovered in the Folkie boom of the '60s. The melody in the guitar part is a but more pronounced imo but I went for this version because Skip James' voice is just unbelievably wounded and world-weary.
