@lynn200 Hmm, yes... it's true about that. It's a pitty, but it's always a pleasure to listen :)

Wonderful song. This kind of cautious singig always amazes me. Malia (who has a pretty similar voice) made a fine cover of this and blended the 2 voices over. That also sounded good.

@lynn200 thx for the flowers. The album is "Yellow Daffodils" and "Solitude" is available on youtube (outside germany).

@azche24 just played it..Billie was haunted by her demons, she gives them to whoever listens in a sympathetic way.Malia does not give the same emotion(no-one can) with this song. i liked Malias 'you put a spell on me" found a new great singer tonight, and sure to jam one soon.

@lynn200 Agree: Malia can never ever get the depth and expression of the Billy Holliday original. But i was a nice little sound-experiment, i think. Her "I put a spell on you" was new to me, i confess. The interpretation is completely wrong to me: No anger, no hate - this misses the John Fogerty oder Screaming Jay Hawkins versions.

Great jam - could listen to her all day (and sometimes do!)

@Axol i used to,lost all my down-loads,get it sorted soon. years ago had Billie on cassette, all the lovely hiss and the scratches ,her sound was more authentic that way.

@lynn200 Beautiful jam. As for boys middle names Thorin is brilliant. My two have middle names from Michael Moorcock books. Elijah has 'Jherek' and Jethro 'Elric'.

@abigail.deeks can image lots of 70s kids dont put their full names on CVs*.Like your choices. Used to be, names were a fashion,5 years of Sharon!!oooh ! Happy you enjoyed Billie, think its one of her most dark pieces, can feel the loneliness.:)

@lynn200 It's an amazing song and the most amazing part is that you can deeply feel her solitude. Thanks, Lynn.
