@ada23 that would make a great Eternal jam....prhaps it my end...still didnt work...tell me if this works your end....when the musics over, live http://youtu.be/jLAr-WlxMZY
@brianberringto yes...could i get it to jam,or the Many others i tried...No! so i thought i might indulge in a bit of Jim anarchy...sure he'd approve... :)))
@lynn200 I feel a Doorsfest coming on - if the football commentators are just too asinine tonight then I'll watch the football to the soundtrack of Jim and Co.
@Shendall Spanish Caravan....not one i'm so familiar with....i will hear ,yeah, sometimes people just wanna go away and get lost....*http://youtu.be/pKmkOIlHbok
@Bukowski i looked up the tube last night, learnt a lot...his parents, why he was in Paris, how he disliked being the front man...Jim just wanted to write, but was going thru a' slide patch.but there was no autopsy....who can say...:(
@decarter one of the best films ever, agree about' The End...i have a few Canadian friends, they were in Nam,pass thru here on their way back every year... yeah 'People are Strange.
Agreed! I have many favorite tracks from this band, it's difficult to pick one. Hmm, let me see... Riders on the Storm is a good one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lS-af9Q-zvQ :)
@Sylvestrian thank you for the pianists name...i kinda got hooked on the sad image of the the dog trying to find its owner.'.Riders on the Storm, yes, meanings of his lyrics are a subjective matter.we can choose our own journey... Jim would be 70,some say he's still around...*
@ian38018 Love St...from the album 'Waiting for the Sun...i linked that full album to Axol...its up top....we have a few of those streets here*http://youtu.be/nXLDLM7wPCU
@lynn200 Rather sureally, there used to be a St Mirren FC fanzine called "There's a Store Where the Creatures Meet", which puzzled lots of folks who never got the connection.
@baarish009 i know what you mean, they're all so loved /special...i jammed Road House Blues, the live one ,where he was arrested on stage,i'm sure you know the story behind that...sadly like so many it doesnt jam now....hence the links* love it where he tries hiding under the stage....enjoyed listening to all these great songs Road house Blues- http://youtu.be/SM4SA3iYzT4
@baarish009 has the gist of it, tho I'd have to go for Riders on the Storm for it's mood landscape, with People are Strange a very close second, just because it's so true. :)
ps I see you already know a way round dem pesky YT geeks. :)
@Phyl i only wanted to jam Crystal ship....it kinda took off from there....blocks! but i have had fun listening to all the favorites(no red line with this way)! i read up on Jim,took 4 days for us to hear the news, saw a few conspiracy theories....i like to think he's out there, living a simple life... i'll post you' People are Strange, havnt had that one yet http://youtu.be/ZRAr354usf8
@treesandmeadows Jim was/is special.i read about that accident, his father.all the theories....its a great link..and the most beautiful song. i'll be sad when this page goes, its been a joy, even tho it happened out of frustration..And,i have a nice sunny day ...:))
@andybartlett sure have been strange today*....so you share with Phyl and Baarish 009,but did you see /hear' Indian Summer,it was their first recording on a demo tape in 65,not released till 70. its about his family hitting a group of indigenous Indians in their car. Jim,as a young boy says he saw their souls fluttering about and one entered him.....see treesandmeadows links above....its intriguing...he later estranged his family with no contact up to his passing...:)
Too many, most mentioned - Light My Fire, Love Me Two Times, When The Music's Over, Five To One, Shaman's Blues, Roadhouse Blues, Peace Frog, Love Her Madly, Riders On The Storm..all up there on my list...but on top for your linkfest I go for Universal Mind..http://youtu.be/SaO0b-DvJU8
@donuno ..a band where choosing just 1 is near impossible....your choice i wasnt so familiar with...enjoyed listening to everything.learnt a lot.wish we could jam freely.now for re-jam of one of mine....deleted twice,3rd time lucky?

The End for me. It's fate as my number one forever sealed when I first saw the magnificence that is Apocalypse Now. Superb musical casting.

Axol
@lynn200 I won't be to everyone's taste but I love the album "Waiting For The Sun" so I guess Five To One - Jim at his most menacing.

"LA woman" is my favourite but I admit, "The end" was absolutely MADE for "Apocalypse now"...sinister , poetic & dramatic

@decarter one of the best films ever, agree about' The End...i have a few Canadian friends, they were in Nam,pass thru here on their way back every year... yeah 'People are Strange.
Sylvestrian
Ray Manzarek's piano work in this and on my favorite, "Riders on the Storm," is prominent: http://youtu.be/lS-af9Q-zvQ

A perhaps lesser known favourite is Love Street.
