I still have this song on vinyl! It was on a budget sampler double album from Vertigo Records, 'Suck It And See', along with tracks by then-labelmates Gentle Giant (my all time favourites, Manfred Mann's Earth Band, Beggar's Opera, the Sensational Alex Harvey Band and many more. It has always been one of my favourite albums; such a good record label!
Vertigo Records was the name Philips Records chose in the late 1960s for its record sub-label to counter the progressive labels of its rivals EMI

Never heard this track before - great stuff! A lot less "clinical"-sounding than their later stuff.

@Jimjar that's probably why I like it so much. Still, even in a more organic incarnation without synthesizers, they mange to anticipate techno!
