i love the band and keep up with robbie robertson here in landlocked oklahoma where he often plays, or so i've heard...some here told me he is from here but he is from the great white north
i was playing one of his cd's one day and it offended my nurse at the time...i can't remember which tribe but he was native american and he said it borrowed a sacred melody from his tribe...i wish i could remember which tune...it wasn't BROKEN ARROW
@Shaka I know the album you mean, Music For The Native Americans. It was a different direction for him. The second track Mahk Jchi (Heartbeat Drum Song) is great. Don't know what they're saying but it sure sounds good...
@MsDuhMeanor Music For The Native Americans is a pretty cool album. Don't expect it to be anything like The Band though, it's as much about the Indian performers as it is about Robbie Robertson, hope they got to share in some of the profits...

Here's an interesting interview with Robbie Robertson where he talks about his fractured relationship with Levon Helm. Some of the comments are interesting....http://www.jambands.com/news/2014/01/02/robbie-robertson-talks-about-final-meeting-with-levon-helm
