Folk Music & Military History. Child Soldiers. Historically children were often involved in military activities, just as they were in all other aspects of life. By the 20thC concerns about the use of children in the Wars of Liberation and Civil conflicts led to International legislation to outlaw the practice. Despite this: “ In over twenty countries around the world, children are direct participants in war.
