@Han I love the whole aesthetic of the early raytracers. I downloaded an Amiga emulator and Sculpt3d, made a bunch of things like this http://i.imgur.com/vRtEGbN.jpg you can either have no floor, solid colour floor, or checkered :)
@ndreasa That's amazing. I want to play with that. You should make Tshirts of this.
(The checkers on the floor are called orthogonals, very trendy during the renaissance – heightened the feeling of perspective, which was new then and exciting to look at. Before then people didn't know how to draw in perspective, really. I think it's neat that 3D graphics programs employ this too, to heighten the feeling of 3Dness, for the same exciting reasons!)
