Was familiar with his funkier stuff, like Fancy free, Flight Time, Witch Hunt etc. Not heard this before for some unknown reason. Lovely, mournful sound to his horn. Reminds me a bit of Miles on It Never Entered My Mind, amongst other things.
I hadn't heard him before this. Will check out those tunes you mention. And the Miles as I'm a big fan of him but haven't heard that.
