I don't think the broadcasters of the time can have realised that Lydon/Rotten revelled in over-emphasising the second syllable of "va-cant", and meant it too. Lord alone knows why they didn't censor that, cos they hammered everything else they didn't like at the time. All other similar attempts would have been banned from screens and airwaves. I'm not judging, just pointing out a useless fact. Good tune and a definite memory for me (one child growing and another being carried in my first wife).
