@MadameZia Many slip-ups you mean :) But in 1969 they got it right. Sung in Dutch, De Troubadour by Lenny Kuhr representing the Netherlands was, – together with "Boom Bang-a-Bang", "Un jour, un enfant", and "Vivo cantando" from, respectively, the United Kingdom, France, and Spain – one of the four winners of the Eurovision Song Contest 1969. The Netherlands thus achieved the rare feat of going from (equal) last to (equal) first in the space of one year. (clip can be seen @dutchbeeblebrox )
@MadameZia Nowadays you have to have a strong stomach though, as there's a lot of idiotic, ill advised, non-musical nonsense being thrown at you during a transmission of the songcontest! :)
@dutchzaphod I just read it caused a bit of disgruntlement as there weren't enough medals to go round. The songwriters had to wait for theirs and were well annoyed..ahh European harmony...
It's got that 70s kooky poppet in a film vibe, I'm thinking it could've been used the original Freaky Friday. And for that reason, I like it. Also, look at his 'fucking red trousers'.
@shirl It means 'Mile After Mile', so he's walked a long way to see his loved one...and still got so much energy! Glad you like it. Not many seem to :)

@MadameZia But sometimes they get it right. What was that funny Swedish group who won in the 70s....what were they called again?
