@jackthestripper I just invented a new dish...The Scotch Slinger...it's a regular slinger but with a scotch egg on top

@BladeRunner I have to admit it...I sometimes get a craving for a scotch egg..I just have to have one! Sometimes two! But I always regret it afterwards

@philipnareike ouch... i must admit that by simply reading 'haggis' it makes me even more afraid... not that we don't have our bizarre dishes around here, but this scotch egg doesn't even look very appealing...

@BladeRunner ..another great British invention.....I think the Queen buys her scotch egg supplies from Fortnum and Mason's weekly

As far as I can remember, the most bizarre egg dish in brazil would be Colored pickled egg - a classic in our "pubs"... it's something that maybe if you stare for to long, the jar might explode...

@philipnareike ah! we do have our bizarre "invention" or version... a classic at bus stations, pubs and everything "pop": we took the syrian Kibbeh and put an egg inside it! I've never eaten one, and will gladly go on living without it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kibbeh

@BladeRunner I've eaten pickled eggs before but not for a long long time. I don't think I could face one. These coloured pickled eggs sound strange but a nicer colour than the ones I've eaten ...they go a horrid tinge...and the kibbeh egg...they must've got the idea from the scotch egg

BladeRunner

@philipnareike I must admit that the brazilian pop version of kibbeh, did reminded me a LOT these scotch eggs!!!

@BladeRunner But why be scared of a haggis? What's so scarey about offal tightly wrapped in a pig's bladder? Haha ..actually I think it's a sheep's bits encased in the stomach lining, but the ones you buy in the shops are just in plastic...boil for 3 hours and enjoy....they're quite tasty actually

I'd try it! But here's something I would never try. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Century_egg

7 years, 2 months ago

BladeRunner

@philipnareike you see how self explanatory this is?! hahahaha!!! oh, @jackthestripper but I wouldn't try the Century egg either! I'm terrified of this! And if I may add... another "delicacy" that wouldn't contemplate the possibility to even look at is Balut http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balut_(egg)

jackietheripper

haha, wow, ok @BladeRunner, you win! I would eat the 1000 year old egg before that.
