@kemiladashdot Thanks. I was really pleased how good they were. The only original member is Simonetti, but the other 3 younger guys played exceptionally.
@Astromonkey It was funny...just before this one he put his microphone away...then said: 'oh, I forget I have to sing on this one...' and brought it back up. They played scenes from the films on the big background screen.....during this the infamous 'barbed wire' scene featured....not for the squeamish!
@natyblooming Sorry....didn't mean to scare you........Lalalalalalalalalalalala! .....Please just make sure you NEVER EVER watch the movie then! Don't worry there's a lovely cuddly PJam coming up soon!
I was about to ask who was in the lineup. Saw 'em a few months ago in NC and Simonetti was the only member NOT from the original lineup. That's funny they're having opposites-shows.
@thefamilyghost I think who I've just seen was originally called Simonetti's Goblin and Deamonia. I've a feeling now they're called just Goblin as the other Goblin featuring the others disbanded. It's complicated stuff: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goblin_%28band%29
@thefamilyghost Can't remember the other three's names but the guitarist and drummer were both bald and the bassist had his arms tattooed. All I know is they were great, They played Tenebre, Profundo Rosso, stuff from Dawn of the Dead and Phenomena....
Awesome. The show I saw was incredible, sounds like it had a similar setlist. They did like a set of album stuff and then a set of soundtrack stuff. They did those 2 consecutive US tours last year and each one had a different lineup (Simonetti was in the first leg, but then wasn't the second leg; and I think one or two others of the original members were not there the first leg but joined for the second leg). Like you say, complicated stuff. Guess they don't get along with each other too well.
@thefamilyghost I think they must've fallen out during that tour. I thought Simonetti came across as a real funny guy. Smiling and pulling some fun faces all the time whilst playing. In fact, he's beginning to slightly resemble a goblin in with older age....
@alisonsghost Eeek! The 'infamous barbed wire scene' is from Suspiria. You requested it. Here it is! I'm not sure if you know any of Dario Argento's films but they have an unreal dream-like quality in many of their sequences. This shows why he always wanted Goblin to do the soundtracks........ http://youtu.be/oq0VoV-ReII ....They just don't make 'em like that anymore!
