I think they should be considered one film and watched together.
@jackthestripper That's probably true. I read that when Brando won and didn't accept the Oscar, Pacino also boycotted the ceremony as he was pissed off for only being nominated for Best Supporting Actor, as he had longer screen time in the movie.
