My music teacher always told me not to listen to the Devil's music but when it has traces of "Staying alive" and Yoko Ono in it , then how can I resist? ( Forgive me Lord!) ...Oh yeah, it's Emilia for me.
@MadameZia@BladeRunner I heard something weird too.....some Satanic 'n' saucy Babs Cartland gibberish from 'The Devil in Love' I think I heard the words 'jodhpurs' and 'horsewhip'....I've come out in hot flushes! I'm doomed! .... Doomed!.....
@philipnareike have you calmed down? (and I won't say that @MadameZia and I may have to discipline you, I guess it might get even worse...) but I have another "brega treat" for both of you! considering we're already doomed....
@BladeRunner Where's my Brega fix? I'm getting the shakes now. @MadameZia Just got back from the Chrissie Hynde gig. We were so close we could've reached out and touched her..
just so that @MadameZia can understand what "brega music" means: Brega means kitschy, tacky, and usually very simplistic and popular versions of intl hits. As I've presented "pequenina" to Phil - it's a brazilian version os Abba's Chiquitita, sang by a paraguayan singer called Perla (she had lots of this 'subversions' as I call them) , that were very succesful in the 70's and 80's... also she usually re-wrote the lyrics and the result is something completely absurd!
@philipnareike@MadameZia Listen
You tell me it's too soon
And that I'm afraid
and still have a lot to learn
you know,
you say I that don't understand
but you're shaking
because you're aware that I know more than you do
I know
I know it all
I know it all, teacher
I know it all
everything, everything
about love
Look
the others are staring at us
and they're talking about it
But it doesn't matter
Never
will they understand that I know everything
because I study
in the school of your heart
@BladeRunner that was great! How did I not know about Perla? I have to say though that I take exception with this notion that you believe I like kitsch and tack :)
