@BladeRunner @BladeRunner Thanks... I just learnt a new word ....I've learnt alot today.....telenovelas....windsurfing...Baby Bernadette.....I've also come to he conclusion that maybe the 6-9 month soap is better than our 'lasta friggin' lifetime style...Coronation Street's been going on for about 50 years I think...and guess what?...I've never ever watched a single episode all the way through in my whole life!

...but I'm no expert on the Brazilian style Soap so I may be wrong...

@philipnareike hahaha the cuíca has such a particular sound, that any Brazilian can spot it from a distance I guess! I agree with you about this soaps lasting an eternity... people do get a fresh start every now and then. Sometimes you have a charachter that the viewers start to love (or hate), so you can have a whole new audience - and that actually happens. in terms of media strategy it creates a wider market. I'm laughing with "baby bernadette"! I think you've got the spirit

@BladeRunner "Cuica":- THANK YOU for coming up with the name! I've been trying to find out what it's called for months. I've asked friends who are into latin music and had no joy and it doesn't really work with google when you type : 'Brazilian instrument that sounds like an exotic bird being strangled' Thank you again. I can sleep at night now!

@decarter hauhauhau 'Brazilian instrument that sounds like an exotic bird being strangled' = best laugh of the evening! Yes, the cuíca (kweeka) sound is something almost atavic for a Brazilian older, than 7, 8 years old... Let me indulge you with something that's absolutely amazing to me... a warning: you may not sleep after listening to it http://youtu.be/MAC3dp9mp18
