As a kid in the 70s, life seemed pretty good so why then hearing this theme tune does it make me think that decade was so goddam awful
Ahh, it was my grandmother's dog's cue for walkies - he came over running as the credits began rolling. Smart boy.
This was my Nan's favourite soap because being a City girl she thought that this was how life was like in the country
@MadameZia Being a country bumpkin boy that's why I always turned it off or switched channels whenever the music came on..... :)

Why has emmerdale been singled out with such vitriol by the soap lovers?
It seems life in the farm in the UK is a lot more poetical that it is in Brazil... (loved the lamb and the piglet!)
