@MadameZia Although Cry Baby was a reasonably big budget movie, one of his more commercial ones, coming a few years after Hairspray, I'm sure it was originally a financial flop. I suppose Johnny Depp at the time wasn't exactly a big enough star to get people to go and see it. It's a great shame John Waters hasn't been able to make any films recently...his last one was A Dirty Shame with Tracyey Ullman in 2004
