Raven quills are used (not so much now) in period harpsichords to pluck the strings - the ravens at the Tower regularly have their wing feathers thinned so they can't fly away and fulfil the apocalyptic prophesy. Futter used to supply feathers to my pa-in-law who works with harpsichords. Et voila!
