@philipnareike@MadameZia If I lost an arm or a leg I would like to have some sort of ceremony for it. Play a sad tune. Light a Candle. Burn it. Keep it in a jar on a shelf. Tell anyone who ask what's in the jar that "it's my arm/leg" and let it wait to be reunited with the rest of me.
@Avante I think you're right @MadameZia That reminds me....there was a lady who lived 2 doors away from us who had an operation to have her varicose veins removed...I never saw them but I think she kept them in a jar...perhaps on the mantel piece.... it must've looked like a jar of worms...
@Avante@MadameZia Talkinmg of people with limbs missing...when I visited my relatives in Germany I met 2 men with one arm...One-armed Otto in Berlin who lost his arm at Dunkirk and the other was my Uncle's neighbour who had a metal hand.....apparently he didn't need a hammer to do all those odd jobs ...he just used his hand to bang in nails!

@philipnareike yuk worms! Reminds me of that David Lynch film 'Eraserhead' only they weren't worms...
MadameZia
@philipnareike also your Uncle's neighbour reminds me of Darth Vader and that chap out of 'Live and Let Die'
philipnareike
@MadameZia Wasn't it Doctor No who had the metal hand....
MadameZia
@philipnareike I meant Tee Hee Johnson who had the metal pincers
philipnareike
@MadameZia Oh of course! ....I'd forgotten about him! He was pretty cool ...was he called Tee Hee because he was always laughing...while he pinced you

Lovely warm jam. Nice enough to distract me from the metion of "Eraserhead" ( @MadameZia ) ..the creepiest film I've ever seen!
philipnareike
@MadameZia What were they? It's been a long time since I saw that film
MadameZia
@philipnareike well I always thought they were worms until I read somewhere that they were umbilical cords...
