Aha. I think that, before you post your Jam, you need to test it out in the handy pre-posting player. Very often, unfortunately, it will tell you that WMG (a recording company) will not allow it to play through TIMJ and other sites (that's true of almost all Bowie's studio recordings, unfortunately. I have to use a Vimeo workaround to post on mine).
@leejohnson I tend to post them on my phone, which for some reason never has a problem playing them, but then as soon as I try to play them on a computer the WMG police come out of the woodwork. I don't get it :(.
@pwoperfish I go to quite a lot of trouble to, shall we say, 'copy' one of the better videos from YouTube to Vimeo on a temporary basis, just so it will play. Because not all devices like playing Vimeo stuff, I also include a link back to the YouTube vid, plus a link to the video posted on my Facebook page. To me, it's worth the effort, just to get it heard. It's not for everyone though, and technically it's not quite the done thing I suppose, but I do delete the Vimeo vid afterwards.
@pwoperfish Anyway, as for the Jammed track, it is easily the most significant song in his catalogue for me personally. I was one of those who watched his now-famous 'Top Of The Pops' performance back in 1972, with my jaw scraping the ground. I was well aware of the man through my admiration for his previous hit "Space Oddity". This just blew me away, like it did thousands upon thousands of others in Britain that year. He became a lifelong obsession (as you will have worked out!!). :)
@pwoperfish Good choice. For those having trouble, it plays fine direct from YT http://youtu.be/tRcPA7Fzebw@caronline Bowie at his best? I would say "in his prime", although he seems to have a new "prime" each time he reinvents himself. The most active and capable old fella singer I have ever seen. Experienced his Glass Spider tour, London '87 and saw him live in Melbourne '04 - ten years ago for A Reality tour. He was amazing in both, and his recent The Next Day album is equally impressive.
