@PeteLaberge I agree about arrangements making the song, but I have to add melody too. Have heard great songs ruined by bad melodies. Thanks for the comment.
@robertsilvestri Yes, you are 100% right, there. And another thing, soemtimes in sung songs, I do not know if you have noticed this... but 2 good, pro, singers sing a song. One is enjoyable, awesome. The other, I find myself thinking: That song was not for his voice, he should not have sung that. Why is that?
oh Robert(I hang my head guiltily). You said a couple of jams ago I could follow you on fb. I don't do a lot on there, so as I now will is a mere coincidence, & nothing to do with following on here
@PeteLaberge Excellent point. Just over this Christmas, I heard Stevie Nicks recording of Silent Night. Had to turn it off. Thought my ears would explode. Now listen to Josh Groban, Sarah McLachlan, or Nat King Cole doing the song, and it makes you wonder.
@robertsilvestri Thank you. I have often wondered if this viewpoint of mine was off base. But you, and a few others, have said close to the same thing. I think we may be right. After all, until you sing a song, dance a dance, paint a painting, do a sculpture, make a movie, and put it out there..... You never really know what has struck the eye, or ear, or nose, or palate... of the beholder.
Happy New Year to you and your family as well, @christyvale. Your comment is most appreciated. When I return, I will continue to provide information and facts for any song I Jam.
