I never heard this before... In fact the only song I know by them is that one driving away from from home

It's all you need. Room to breathe, call your own... @philipnareike That is probably their least characteristic song, although clearly it's now their most recognizable...

@thisismymistake It's Immaterial was my jam throughout the winter months of 2010(...? It's a blur) when I was in art school. Many thanks for the introduction.

Cannot recall hearing anything else by them apart from Driving Away From Home. Know him better as one of The Christians.

@shme @philipnareike @Shaka @simonp @DavidShepherd Life's Hard and Then You Die is one of the most brilliant (and most brilliantly titled) albums of the 1980s. A true combination of synth pop and krautrock. I have to admit that when Song came out in 1990 I only listened to it once or twice and put it away. I just recently re-listened to it on Youtube and that's when its brilliance finally kicked in. A perfect Sunday afternoon soother... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yby2CVdKKO8

Got 3 of their singes on 12 inch ("A Gigantic Raft in the Philippines", "Whiteman's Hut" and "Driing Away From Home"), but don't remember hearing this before.

There's crooked humour, deep feeling and lots of varied styles of music on Life's Hard and Then You Die. It's a gem.
