Somehow the band that bridged the gap between The Jesus and Mary Chain and My Bloody Valentine is little more than a footnote in the popular history of shoegaze -- and the history of music in general. There are underrated bands...there are criminally underrated bands...then there's A.R. Kane.

Made a fortune by being the A and R from MAARS, despite not writing Pump Up The Volume (they did the ignored B-side), the original title was You Push A Knife Into My Womb (no-one would press it). Love the line 'the hair on your neck forms a noose around mine'. Great song.
