Perfect for a being stuck in a jam in the sun
Mid 70s. The Average White Band were on telly. I recorded it via a Philips N1700 video recorder onto a 30 minute 1 inch tape cassette. They were recording the album on a tropic island. Being Scots, they were already sunburned & overdosing on vit D. This track started with bass slides and mis-hits before "clicking together" and taking off. It was so memorable. It conjured up a powerful, aspirational, happy, jet set, sun kissed, lifestyle. Many years later, when it is a warm and sunny evening, and I'm driving with my arm out the window, I slip on a pair of aviators, select this mp3, spin the volume up to "yeah-baby", and believe that I am that man on Atlantic Avenue. #finaljams #sunset #70s
