The first time I heard Baaba Maal was his album Mi Yeewni. It absolutely blew me away. That album was my introduction to West African music, and I was sold. I had a hard time picking one song to do here, but today feels like a lazy Thursday, and this tune suits it: Smooth and soft. Check it out. If you like it, listen to the rest of the stuff on the album. If you look further into Baaba Maal's catalogue, though, you're going to find a LOT of Europop, though, so be prepared for that. It's still pretty good. He's got an amazing voice.
