Day After Day by Badfinger
“I heard this on the radio last week, and it has been running through my head ever since. I have loved this song since I was a child, but as I've gotten older, I appreciate it all the more. For some unknown reason, TIMJ won't let me link to this great conceptual video of the song, so click below to enjoy... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XonFZjuyc6E”

Guitar parts by George Harrison, who also produced it - but the magical mix is by Todd Rundgren. Todd, as so often, criticised by the artists he produces or mixes, but he always creates hits.

The #cheese connection-This song appeared on the Fox television show The Simpsons, in the episode "Eternal Moonshine of the Simpson Mind" (Episode 9, Season 19) in which Homer tries to recollect events that happened from the night before. It had a very high rating on Fox, and is considered by fans to be as good as the original seasons episodes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eternal_Moonshine_of_the_Simpson_Mind

Badfinger guitarist Peter Ham wrote this. A few years later, after a dispute with their record label over missing money, Ham committed suicide.
George Harrison produced this and played guitar on it. The year before, Peter Ham and Tom Evans from Badfinger played on Harrison's first solo album, All Things Must Pass.
This sounds a lot like The Beatles. Badfinger was one of the first bands to sign with The Beatles' label, Apple Records. As a result, they got to know The Beatles quite well and picked up on their sound.

Working with the band on this song were Leon Russell, George Harrison and Todd Rundgren. As always, Dutch Classics can be found at @dutchzaphod.
