Way late to the Beck Morning Phase party, but after getting this album for Christmas I finally gave it a listen this past week. So good.

#Top31Tracksof2014: Last entry before we hit the Top 20 comes from that genre chameleon Beck Hansen. My favourite thing about "Blue Moon", above all else, are the harmonies throughout the chorus. It would be easy for a song like this to wallow in its own misery, but Beck instead cleverly makes the song strangely uplifting, bypassing melancholy almost totally. It ends up working totally, "Blue Moon" has seen many a play over the past year, working in many a situation. #bestof2014
